This is such a fun card kit – it is all about “penny sliders”. I have made them before so the technique is not new to me, but they are always so fun to make and the receiver is always “wowwed” by these cards. If you have never made them it is pretty simple. There is a video on the Crafters Companion Box site that will walk you through the steps. The pretty purple box contains over 195 elements including metal dies, acrylic stamps, card blanks, envelopes, dew drops, and lots of beautiful colored and patterned papers. There are a lot of peachy, yellow and red colors in this paper palette.

Sara Davies, the owner of Crafter’s Companion, always puts together a fun kit that is packed with lots of crafty items and new techniques. My kit was delivered with auto-ship through HSN as always. You can check out Crafter’s Companion website for more information. This kit, as always, is a wonderful bargain. There is a Facebook group that you can join once you subscribe which provides lots of community support and loads of examples; plus, Sara also has a monthly card kit site that you can refer to for demos/project pages.
To make these cards you will need a few pennies (two for each object you want to slide). You can use other items instead but try to make sure they are about the same size and weight. You will also need double sided foam to elevate your top layer so the penny sliders glide easily. You can use tabs, strips, circles – whatever you have. For stamping, I used the Spectrum Noir quick dry inks. I also used the Spectrum Noir Tri-blend markers for all of my coloring. I find they are easy to use and blend colors without having to put much thought into it. CC has an amazing range of coloring products that even a novice can use and look like an artist. For glue, I used a combination of xyron tape, 3D glue gel and I used collall wet glue to raise up a few of the sentiments. I would also recommend the Crafter’s Companion glass mat. It is a true game changer. Once you work on a glass surface you will agree!
Here are a few of the cards I made – let me know which you like best…..
