So I was pleasantly surprised when I opened this box. Each item was individually wrapped in a pretty purple polka dot envelope! It was like opening Christmas presents lol! So what would you do as a true-blue crafter – yes that’s right I cut up the envelopes to re-use the paper!! I wonder how many others did the very same thing?!? This kit is a lot of fun with stamps and dies that will be used over and over. The kit features decorative duo dies. This box contains metal dies, acrylic stamps, card blanks, envelopes, dew drops, gems, ribbons, and lots of beautiful colored and patterned papers. The colors in this kit are really fabulous. In total there are over 300 elements.
Sara Davies, the owner of Crafter’s Companion, always puts together a fun kit that is packed with lots of crafty items and new techniques. My kit was delivered with auto-ship through HSN as always. You can check out Crafter’s Companion website for more information. This kit, as always, is a wonderful bargain. There is a Facebook group that you can join once you subscribe which provides lots of community support and loads of examples; plus, Sara also has a monthly card kit site that you can refer to for demos/project pages.
I used the Spectrum Noir opaque pigment inkpads and the harmony ink pads for blending and shading. The opaque inkpads are more vibrant and the ink stays wetter longer so be sure not to touch the ink until it dries and be careful if you are layering inks too. CC has an amazing range of coloring products that even a novice can use and look like an artist. I also used several 3D cut and emboss folders that I picked up on HSN from Crafter’s Companion. For glue, I used a combination of xyron tape, 3D glue gel and I used collall wet glue to raise up a few of the sentiments. I would also recommend the Crafter’s Companion glass mat. It is a true game changer. Once you work on a glass surface you will agree!
Here are a few of the cards I made – I hope you get some inspiration….
I could have made a ton more cards with this set if I had more time, but I am sure I will reach for these items again in the future because they were so much fun and easy to make. Let me know if you have any questions. I would love to see what you create too so please feel free to share! Happy Crafting!!
