Hi Everyone!!
I am so happy to be hosting this weeks’ challenge again on the Stamps of Life Facebook Fan Page! This week’s challenge is all about PAPER PIECING! All products used are on the Stamps of Life website. If you would like to join us, all you need to do is become a member of our Stamps of Life Fan Page on Facebook and post your entry into this weeks album. That’s all there is to it! Here are my creations for the Paper Piecing Album…
There are several techniques you can use to paper piece. For the first card, I die cut two of the same smile dies with two different papers and filled in the blank spaces from the first cut with the second cut (I then repeated it for the second smile word on the card). I filled in the open spaces on the solid “smiles” with patterned paper and on the second card I did the same with the “adore” die below – even the smallest detail on the “o” and the “e”. Also on the “adore” card, I paper pieced my own background by cutting and gluing different strips of patterned paper together for a unique look. I used the word stand up dies, the adore heart die and that cute “pretty please” came from the bananasplit2stamp set.

Ok so I couldn’t resist using these totally adorable ant stamps (picnic2stamp) for this next example. I paper pieced the picnic blanket by cutting and gluing strips of patterned paper onto a piece of blank paper and then I cut into that paper to make the blanket with the picnic2stamp dies. The cherry and the spoon came from the bananasplit2stamp set.

The next 3 cards use grid die sets that are really simple for paper piecing. The baby card uses the stitched window dies and the adorable B-A-B-Y stamped letters came from the Alpha4Fayleen stamp set (a must have!!!) and the adorable frog and puppy came from the ben2stamp set. As you can see I used solid and patterned paper to paper piece in the grid boxes.

This next card is the same grid die set but I raised up the squares and made more of a continuous pattern (sort of lol). The stamp set is hive4bees and the dotted lines are from bees4me.

This last card uses the grid 3 circle dies and I used different paper to piece in each of the corners. The Happy Birthday circle came from the rounded corner with circle drop-ins and the squiggles/confetti came from an old set that had balloon strings.

I hope you will give paper piecing a try – do whichever method works best for you. I am looking forward to seeing your posts on the facebook fan page!!
Thanks for joining me! Happy Crafting!
