Ok so August is getting away from me very quickly! I started opening box 3 (weeks after I actually got it) and box 4 arrived the same week! From the second I opened the box, I knew this box would not disappoint. It is packed with lots of goodies as usual!
Sara Davies, the owner of Crafter’s Companion, has put together a wonderful monthly kit – again!! This was delivered with auto-ship through HSN so I am receiving kits monthly. I am sure you can check out Crafter’s Companion website for more information too. This kit is truly a wonderful bargain. Each kit will offer different items and will show you new techniques.

This month’s kit features 3 different stamp sets along with coordinating dies!! Yes – three sets! This kit also includes solid cardstock, patterned paper and other coordinating papers. There are also eighteen (18) A2 size white card blanks with envelopes plus matching card inserts you can add to each card. In all, you can make a minimum of 18 cards. Keep in mind, there is also a Facebook group that you can join once you subscribe which provides lots of community support and Sara also has a monthly card kit site that you can refer to for demos and project pages.

Since I just opened this box, I really only scratched the surface on what you can do with this kit…. The butterfly is made up of several die cut layers in different solid papers and the top layer was cut from patterned paper. I also inked the edges with some distress ink for some added depth. For the leaves, I inked some of the colored papers and then I stamped the leaf image. After that, I embossed the leaves and die cut them out. As an afterthought, I decided to add the Live, Love, Laugh sentiments onto the leaves and I really like the way it came out.

This next card uses the flower die and the leaf die. The flower was made of 4 layers. I inked the edges and lightly spritzed the paper to soften the fibers. Layer by layer, I manipulated the paper so it had a more realistic 3D look. I decided to add stamens to the center for a more texture and added dimension. The vellum sentiment was also from Crafter’s Companion but not part of this kit. I inked the patterned paper to match the flower more closely.
My last card is probably my favorite of the three I made. I just love the colors and the overall look. I did use a few stamps and dies from the Gemini Go bundle that was on HSN in August (it was the first auto-ship set). I also used the embossing folder that came with that set for the side butterfly panels. The butterflies are only glued in the center so there is a lot of movement in this card. Again, inking all of the papers and die cuts with distress ink helps to add dimension and tie everything together.

I hope you love this kit as much as I do. There is so much included and I know I will reach for these stamps and dies over and over. Since I already have the next kit, I can tell you it features a beautiful create-a-card die, stamps and lots more!! I’ll be working on that new kit very soon! Happy Crafting!
