Nick turns 21…

So out of my 9 nieces and nephews, Nick is the 4th to turn 21! Time is flying by for sure. Nick was the first born on my side of the family (before I met my husband ) so he was like my little buddy growing up and he still is. 💕. We still “do lunch” every Wednesday – sushi lunch 🍣  The joke is we always get 3 rolls for lunch so of course that’s what I had to put on his card. His favorites include salmon and tuna avocado, really anything avocado 🥑.

Nick’s card is all about the sushi. Lawn Fawn has this great stamp and die set which made it so easy for me to create these adorable sushi rolls. I used copic markers for all of my coloring.  I am not all that talented of a colorist, but I have to say, copic markers do make blending and shading easier.

I created the card base from the Sizzix, Stamps of Life, kind sentiments step-up card. It’s really very easy to create a card that stands up straight when done and seems so professional because it looks like you spent a ton of time cutting and measuring.  I also used some vellum with gold star accents for the background and heat embossed the inside and outside sentiments with Zing metallic silver embossing powder. The inside sentiment is one of my new favs from CAS-ual Friday’s Stamps.

Nick, I hope you are having a great time celebrating  in NYC with your friends tonight (and a safe one).  I am very thankful that we are still so close, and I wish you the happiest of birthdays!
