One of our good friends asked if I could make a card for her Mom’s 75th Birthday with a casino theme since they were going to Atlantic City for the weekend. So in my craft room I searched for anything I could use. I found I didn’t have anything and I would have to improvise (yikes) .
So I started with Anna Griffin’s window box dies which I purchased on HSN (craft days!). I also decided to use very thick paper as the base and I wanted stick with the black and gold theme. I used Crafter’s Companion cardstock and glitter paper too because it really is fantastic.
I decided to make dice, cards, and poker chips, and since I didn’t have any dies or stamps, here is where I had to improvise. I used the basic shapes dies for the diamond press and they worked perfectly. I also used the diamond press marquee letters to spell out “lucky”.
The other numbers and “happy Birthday” are from sizzix – The Stamps of Life. By far, one of my favorite designers is Stephanie Barnard. My girls and I met her at a show a few years back and she is wonderful. I brushed on the Spectrum Noir Sparkle Glitter pens over all of the pop up pieces because you can never have too much sparkle!!
The card ended up to be thicker than normal because I added all of the red dot embellishments, so I made a custom envelope using the same paper and the We R Memory Keepers 123 board. This is such a useful board to have. I have used it on so many occasions.
So that’s it – I hope you enjoyed this post and I would love to see your versions of this casino card too! Happy crafting!
Thanks for following my blog. Your cards are amazing! Good luck with your blog.

Thanks again for your sweet comments. I can’t believe I didn’t have any dies or stamps of dice ( I have a big craft collection) thankfully it was an easy item to improvise with – I actually had a bit of trouble with the poker chips lol
